MEET OUR NF HEROES

People with NF are borN Fighters. They face a life of uncertainty and anxiety, forced to battle tumours that can cause significant health issues including blindness, persistent pain, deafness, bone abnormalities, seizures, disfigurement and developmental delays. And whilst every person's experience is different, they all have one thing in common - THEY ARE ALL BRAVE.

MACY

JESSE

Jesse is a big sports fan and dreams of becoming Australia's next big athlete, but complications with his NF have forced him to first overcome some major challenges, including a bone abnormality and amputations of his leg.

EDWARD

Primary school was an incredibly lonely experience for Edward as as result of his NF. He didn’t have friends and was bullied mercilessly. "No one liked me. I couldn’t play sport at lunchtime, so I wasn’t welcome. I felt like I didn’t seem to fit in anywhere".

HANNAH

“I count myself one of the lucky ones. I may have NF, but that does not stop me from aiming high or achieving what I want out of life”.

CARYS

At 9 years of age Carys was diagnosed with a brain tumour after having multiple seizures and one year later, she was tested for NF2 after a tumour was discovered growing off her spine. Now 12, she is back at school and doing amazingly well.
